An Academic Career – a dedicated website developed with Roberts funding at the University of Manchester, to provide information and advice to aspiring academics. Includes video clips from researchers and academics and resources providing support with everything from “is an academic career for you?” through information about academic careers and finding jobs to applying and succeeding at interview.

Beyond the PhD – A career resource for Arts and Humanities researchers featuring profiles of relevant PhD graduates, articles, audio clips and videos.

The Concordat – A framework to support the career development of researchers, adopted by numerous institutions including Newcastle University. The Concordat consists of a set of key principles for the future support and management of research careers and how these principles can be embedded into institutional practice.

Jobs.ac.uk – Jobs in science, research, academic and adminstrative employment  predominantly in universities, colleges and research institutions but also in the commercial and public sector, schools and charities. Opportunities are advertised in both the UK and abroad.

Jobs.ac.uk career development section – includes articles on career issues, case-studies featuring people in a range of roles in academia and elsewhere, top tips on a range of career issues written by HR professionals and careers specialists, a salary checker, blogs and podcasts.

Euraxess – Part of the European Commission website which advertises research jobs and funding opportunities in Europe, as well as providing support for those relocating to another country.

Beacon North East is a regional partnership between Newcastle University, Durham University and the Centre for Life dedicated to improving the quality of research by bringing together academic experts with ‘experts by experience’ from outside the academic world; working with local communities on research which solves real problems and makes a difference to people in the North East and beyond and supporting and promoting public engagement at Durham and Newcastle universities
