This year the Naturejobs Career Expo (NJCE) will be held at The Business Design Centre, London, 22nd September 2011.

Now in its fifth year, the Naturejobs Career Expo claims to be the UK’s largest careers fair and conference for the scientific world. The Expo promotes the UK and Europe as great places to pursue a career in science, be it in industrial research, research organisations or academia. It presents opportunities from organisations in the public, private, national and international sectors.

Jobseekers can meet with potential employers offering hundreds of genuine vacancies. The conference plenary and workshop sessions will provide an opportunity to meet high profile scientists and gain careers information and advice.

Over 1000 experienced UK and European scientists, in physics, chemistry, the life sciences and medical sciences, actively seeking their next career move attend.

Of the 2010 London event attendees:

  • 72% were in full time employment
  • 65% held a PhD degree
  • 79% were over 25 years old

The conference has plenary and workshop sessions hosted by high-profile speakers. Split into 3 different streams (Graduate, Post-Doctoral and Non-Traditional) the conference attendees are able to mix and match across the different sessions, with a wide range of topics of science career paths and career related issues. Offering insight and inspiration to delegates, it stimulates debate as well as providing support and motivation for finding the right position.

Whilst this is running, there is also a career exhibition with exhibitors from Academia, Industry and Government. Actively recruiting, it enables delegates to meet employers face to face and find out more about current opportunities.

Attendance is free, but all attendees must register
