Free Thinking Festival

Posted on Updated on

23 October 2009 – 25 October 2009

Free Thinking – BBC Radio 3’s unique festival of ideas, which comes to the North East for the first time. Explore the big ideas of our time with today’s leading thinkers, artists, scientists and writers, including Tanya Byron, David Miliband, Gina McKee, Mike Brearley, Lionel Shriver, William Orbit, Dan Cruickshank, Sarah Hall, Camila Batmanghelidjh, Ken Livingstone, Tom Shakespeare, and Lisa Jardine. The central theme this year is ‘The 21st Century Family’, but you’ll also find events on many other topics – from the future of the Western World, to the relationship between the rivers of the North East. And look out for the specially-written drama by Fiona Evans and Karen Laws on Saturday night. And it’s not just about listening to other people. Free Thinking is your chance to ask the big questions and take part in the debates. Or even try speed dating one of the thinkers!

Tickets for all events are free – see festivals part of The Sage website for more info…..
